Our Independent Access Scaffold Service

We erect independent access scaffolds to provide the client with the safest possible memans of access to carry out the works required while also keeping third parties and mebers of the public safe. An independent access scaffold is one of the most common forms of scaffolds erected and therefore can be used anywhere. Typically we build them in busy town centres, the educational sector, the health sector and within the food industry.

The size and scale of an independent access scaffold all depends on our clients needs. The width of the scaffold can be reduced to a 3 board working platform in tighter locations or widened to 8 board working platform when more space to work is required. Independent scaffolds can be taken to a maximum height of 40m under TG20:21 but can be designed to be built up to any height.

Depending on the works that will be undertaken on the independent scaffold we also offer several different forms of protection that can be fitted to the external face of the scaffold.

The hierarchy of protection is as follows;

1. Shrink wrapping is the highest form of protection that can be offered, we would recommend this on the longer projects that will run through different seasons throughout the year. It is very robust and can withstand the harshest of weather.
2. Fire retardant monoflex is the second highest form of protection. It meets all current fire regulations and is ideal if you have any hot works to carry out on the scaffold.
3. Monoflex sheeting would then be the next form of protection. This is the most common form of protection that we offer because it is a good all rounder. It helps with keeping the wind and rain off the scaffold but also helps contain dust etc.
4. Debris netting is towards the lower end of protection cladding that we offer but it serves a purpose in its own right. It is great for short term projects as it stops loose bits of debris and tools from falling from the scaffold. The only downfall is that it does not offer any protection from the weather.
